iLoud Micro Monitor rocking out at Abbey Road Studios!

New 'Cream Unplugged' project being recorded by producer and mix engineer Rob Cass

"The bottom end is amazingly tight for such small speakers and the upper mids sound great. They have definitely become a reference when committing to a mix. Very impressive indeed. I love 'em!"

Abbey Road Studios in London are the location of an extraordinary recording project, a special tribute to the classic British rock band Cream, which as you will probably know, featured Eric Clapton on guitar, Ginger Baker on drums and Jack Bruce on bass. This new album and accompanying DVD is under production at Abbey Road's Studio 2 - famous for landmark recordings from the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Oasis and Adele.

Overseeing the project is producer and mix engineer - and long-time IK user - Rob Cass. Over the years Rob has worked with major artists such as Uli Jon Roth (The Scorpions), Jack Bruce, Jon Lord (Deep Purple), Europe and Bernie Marsden.

Rob recently took delivery of his iLoud Micro Monitors which are installed in his production suite upstairs at Abbey Road studios.

Rob told us:

"I think the iLoud Micro Monitors have fabulous imaging with very little colouration. The bottom end is amazingly tight for such small speakers and the upper mids sound great. They have definitely become a reference when committing to a mix. Very impressive indeed. I love 'em!"

A whole plethora of major artists are coming into the studios for the recording sessions. These include acclaimed blues guitarist and former Whitesnake member Bernie Marsden, Cream's own Ginger Baker, USA guitar megastar, Joe Bonamassa, virtuoso percussionist Abass Dodoo, and singer and percussionist Pete Brown (who, incidentally, co-wrote Sunshine of Your Love, White Room and others with Cream's Jack Bruce).

Check out the photos here, taken during the current recording sessions and in Rob's production suite at Abbey Road studios. His iLoud Micro Monitors are now an essential part of his workflow, allowing him to assess his mixes at each stage on every kind of speaker.
