The Minimoog, Modular Moog, Prophet VS, Roland JX-10 and Yamaha TX816 are among the many instruments recorded. Then we further abused the samples using the SampleTank engine to add constantly moving, living and barely breathing presets that come alive like Frankenstein’s monster in the lab.

The origin of Circuit Damage

You've all probably heard stories about famous artists and producers that have that one piece of gear that is malfunctioning in just the right way. It could be the perfect wobbly pitch, cool sounding noise, just the right kind of distortion, colorful sideband artefacts and other odd degradations that add personality and character.

About the creator

Erik Norlander is an American musician known for his work in the progressive rock genre with extensive touring and recording credits. He was the co-designer of the legendary Alesis Andromeda analog polysynth among many other hardware synths and drum machines. Erik is IK's resident synth guru and the driving force behind award-winning IK products such as Syntronik software and the UNO line of analog synthesizers.
